Carolyn Niethammer, author of nine nonfiction books, will discuss her first novel: “The Piano Player,” which was published in June 2014. The book was named a finalist in the Western Fiction category by the 2015 International Book Awards. The book is a western set in Tombstone and the Yukon between 1882 and the 1920s and features two strong women characters not afraid to follow their dreams. Niethammer has a journalism degree from the University of Arizona and worked for newspapers before becoming a freelance writer. Her nonfiction books focus on Southwest foods, plants, travel and people.
