The Origins Spectral Interpretation Resource Identification and Security-Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) is en route to a near-Earth carbonaceous asteroid, commonly referred to as Bennu to study it in detail and bring back a sample to Earth. This sample will help us investigate planet formation and the origin of life, and the data collected at the asteroid will also aid our understanding of asteroids that can impact Earth. Hear Dolores Hill of the OSIRIS-REx communication team at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory/The University of Arizona discuss the mission via web-hosted presentation.
